CCL Label – New Albany, Ohio

The Challenge

A few recent challenges took place as we have worked through this project. Prior to construction, the site was annexed by a neighboring county. Wesex has also taken a few program changes and turned them into design and construction solutions.  

During the construction phase, it was deemed that a second floor would be added. We were able to exercise our BIM skills to quickly adapt this change and make it work.  Now the program includes a stunning mezzanine and second-floor space for CCL’s production team at the facility.  We have successfully dealt with multiple budget deviations and look forward to delivering this completed project to the owners this summer.  Building Information Modeling has truly saved the budget for this client allowing us to adapt to changes on the fly.

The Solution

Wesex is serving as Design-Builder for the new 78,000 square foot ground-up production facility for CCL Label in New Albany, Ohio. The new facility will include an open, modern office space, printing and production area, as well as warehouse and distribution space.

The new facility is being constructed using tilt-up concrete construction, will feature a second-floor mezzanine, and is located within the Beauty Park Campus of New Albany, Ohio. This endeavor unites the concept of locating all the links of the supply chain within shouting distance of the final assembler.

The main office space has an unsupported curved poured-in-place concrete staircae.  BIM and VDC allowed us to construct fast and efficiently.
